Thoughts before the penultimate episode of Answer Me 1988

Statement: I am actually #TeamTaek , but, from the beginning of the series, I thought that Jung Hwan was probably the end game. As we get to the end, I’m getting more convinced that maybe Taek is the end game after all. (Really, truly, I held out that it could probably still be Jung Hwan, but I don’t know anymore…….)

A note to begin with: I don’t like the term “Chilbonged”, especially as used by viewers of Answer Me 1988. Look. The thing about Answer Me 1994 was that Na Jung had liked Garbage from the very beginning, and never really paid attention to Chilbong’s bleeding heart. Chilbong was the underdog. At the beginning of the 1988 series, the assumption was that Taek would be the Chilbong… being the quiet one, who looked like he had less of a chance and may actually do things from the background a lot more. Somehow, part way through, when Taek quietly announced to the other guys that he liked Deok Sun, fans roared that Jung Hwan was going to get Chilbonged. I contend that both Jung Hwan and Taek had equal chances, so I don’t think that either of them can be tagged as Chilbonged. Actually… maybe Jung Hwan had better chances because he’s around more often, took bigger actions first, and she was tipped off by her girl friends about Jung Hwan.

Discovery of Romance, Episode 1 (Recap)

in all honesty, this was supposed to be really short.. approximately, 15 sentences short? haha. i had initially intended to just give a brief overview since there are probably some 5000 blogs already recapping it… and recapping it better. but i enjoyed this show a lot – a whole lot more than i thought i would, and i wanted to put in some of my reactions. (and to keep this from being just a “whoo, sung joon and his hawt kissing”, i thought i should hash out the story and try to put a *little* substance to the post… hah. XD; ) in any case…

Bitter Blood, Episode 1 (Recap)

I think it’s been a while since a jdrama has really captured my attention. Granted, it’s probably because I haven’t been doing the “try one ep” thing at the beginning of each season. (I haven’t been doing it for kdramas, either.. but there are a lot of people doing recaps for those, so I don’t even have to watch anything for a while… Oops?) This first ep for Bitter Blood actually looks to be gearing for a pretty good series. Cross fingers!

(Also, erm… this was supposed to be a “high-level” recap… but I started detailing some stuff more towards the end. No promises on continuing on this series… or even continuing with this much detail… but I’m really happy with the first ep.. so….!)

Thoughts before the final episode of Last Cinderella

(so i admit i’ve been watching this series. perhaps i’ll talk about it more later, but for now…)
the short bit, as i’ve posted in other social networks:

i love tachibana. but i hope it’s hiroto. and if they air tachibana, tell me they have an alternate ending we can access. OR AT LEAST… if they air tachibana, tell me that it wasn’t because of the poll. if they choose tachibana, let it be that it was their decision from the beginning.

i can’t believe there are only 2 weekends left! that means this series is over in about 9 days.. i’m about to turn into a bundle of nerves. sometimes i wish they’d gotten the truth out of the way since there are probably more hurdles to overcome anyway. but we have what we have… and i’m scared about possible breakdowns.

ain’t gonna lie. i’m watching this for moon geun young, one of my favorite former child actresses, despite any misgivings about the seemingly melo synopsis. park shi hoo is definitely a bonus. in any case, i’m really excited for the upcoming episodes, which is only just a little over a couple of hours away… but i am admittedly a little too drunk to stay up until 6am my time. 😉 i haven’t had the time or the resources to do full recaps lately as well… so the very least that i can do for my beloved mgy is just to start posting previews. hope you’re enjoying it as much as i am! 🙂
